S257 - 2026 Appropriations Act. (SL 2026-41)

Overview: Section 11.1 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) allocates the federal block grant funds appropriated for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027 for State Administration, Neighborhood Revitalization, Economic Development, Infrastructure, and Rural Community Development.  

The Department of Commerce must report on the prior year use of these funds by September 1 annually to the chairs of the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee on Agriculture and Natural and Economic Resources; the chairs of the Senate Appropriations Committee on Agriculture, Natural, and Economic Resources; the chairs of the Joint Legislative Economic Development and Global Engagement Oversight Committee; and the Fiscal Research Division.  The report must include information on categories of funding, application numbers and total dollar requests in each category, and a list of grant recipients by name, county, category, amount awarded, and project description.

This section became effective July 1, 2026.
