Overview: Section 6 of S.L. 2026-32 (House Bill 376) makes changes to the certification requirements for on-site wastewater professionals, which includes a requirement that they hold sufficient liability coverage for the project undertaken. It clarifies that a grade II contractor cannot be certified as an inspector without meeting the experience requirements and requires the complete renewal package to be submitted by the annual renewal date.
This section becomes effective January 1, 2027, and applies to applications for certification or certificate renewal on or after that date.
