H517 - Modify Nonprofit Corporation Act/Charitable Organizations. (SL 2026-52)

Overview: Part V of S.L. 2026-52 (House Bill 517) clarifies, for nonprofit organizations, that the majority of directors or the number of directors required by the articles of incorporation or bylaws, whichever is greater, may create a committee and appoint committee members unless otherwise provided by the articles of incorporation or bylaws.
This section becomes effective October 1, 2026, and applies to committees created on or after that date.
